Genesis Chapter 6 continued. The world has fallen into a state of depravity, every wicked intrusive thought is practiced on the earth. The populace has been overtaking by sin and a tyrannical offspring that wage war against God. God looks at his creation with the deepest anguish a loving creator can have over those who reject their maker. A broken heart and a wrath ignited. The flood account that reshapes the course of humanity, detailed throughout countless historical sources, and the one man who found favor in the eyes of the Lord. Jesus said “the kingdom of heaven suffers violence and the violent take it by force” but it is the meek who will inherit the earth, how then can we be saved? God extends a covenant of grace, a covenant to save your marriage, save your sons, save your life. This episode begins to break down God’s intention for covenant, in marriage and in Christianity.  

Genesis Chapter 6.The first command God gave humanity was “be fruitful and multiply” There is a natural obedience and desire for sex that God has woven into the very fabric of our interactions as a society. Sex is the strongest generator of dopamine influencing our repetitive behavior and wanting to have it again.  Women, however, release different hormones than man do, affecting how they bond with each other during, and after intercourse. Genesis chapter six exposes the nations of the world as daughters taken over by tyrants, violent principalities that define our marriages, and sexual relations today. God shows us a way out. Jesus said “up until today they suffer violence” today is the day of salvation.

Genesis, Chapter 5. Jesus said, “wisdom is proved right by her deeds” basically, your wise choices will produce results making evident your decision was indeed correct. The question then becomes, why should you want to get married? We previously disclosed data showing 68% of adults 18–34-year-old want to get married even at the 41% risk of getting divorced, is it worth it? Chapter four and five of Genesis follows the lineage of two brothers, Cain and Seth. The chapter begins with Cain killing his younger brother Abel. Cain later takes a wife and has a son. Seth, Adams’ third born, goes on to father his own son as well. Years progressed and then emerged the picture of two different types of marriages. What marriage will you resemble? One takes, and one gives, how do we define marriage today? Multiple studies show a correlation between marriage today, and the promises of God written thousands of years ago. Let’s connect the dots and find the wisdom of marriage.

Genesis, Chapter 4. Marriage is an ever-present aspect of our society. Pew Research Center did a study on 18–34-year-olds who all said they want to get married. Nonetheless statistics show there is a delaying in marriage with many prioritizing higher education, careers, and financial stability in our modern world. The marriage rate is roughly 41-50% for your first marriage, 60% for your second, and 73% for your third, still two thirds of divorced individuals marry again. Jesus said to the pharisees, “it was not this way in the beginning” does this mean marriage was different in the garden? After the fall? After the law? How do you define marriage, covenant, divorce? A biblical perspective, providing insight to our world today. The first legal marriage, the first mentioned of a polyamorous relationship, the first murder recorded in history. Let’s go back to the beginning and discover marriage, covenant and divorce in our new series, Covenant, where two become one. 

Esther 10, "The Message"
This is our series finale on the Book of Esther! This has been an an amazing journey of 12 weeks breaking down Jesus in every chapter of Esther. The last chapter of this series is titled "The Message" Mordecai is last mentioned to have been second in rank to King Xerxes I. of the Persian Empire to. He is last mentioned to be a spokesman, sharing everything that has happened but also speaking for the welfare of all the Jews. This episode brings brings us to the day of Pentecost when Peter empowered by the Spirit of God becomes a spokeman, sharing the gospel message, but what is the gospel? Good news!
